Broken Spanish Comedor: Ray Garcia's neighborhood comeback

Ray Garcia closed Broken Spanish downtown in 2020. In October 2025 he came back in an old A-frame on Washington Boulevard, looser and cheaper, and Bon Appétit put it on its 2026 Best New Restaurants list.

The original Broken Spanish opened downtown in 2015 and closed in 2020. Ray Garcia came back on October 23, 2025, in the A-frame on Washington Boulevard, on the Culver City edge of Los Angeles, that once held Roy Choi's A-Frame. This version is a neighborhood room: informal, loud, and priced so that some dishes and drinks land around $15.

The LA Times reviewed it in January. In August, Bon Appétit named it one of the 19 Best New Restaurants in the country for 2026.
